IIITM-K wins eWorld 2012 Award for Best Initiative for Localized Application/Content
IIITM-K has received the eWorld2012 Best Jury Award in the Best Initiative for Localized Application/Content developed as part of Right to Information portal developed for IMG.
The Citation for the Award is "India's first state level Right to Information (RTI) portal with a knowledge hub and e-learning content has been developed by IIITM-K. The portal offers, innovative online collaboration opportunities and an expert system for cleaning RTI issues. The e-Learning and on-line certification on RTI is available both in English and malayalam. " Right To Information (RTI) knowledge portal and e-Learning System is a portal developed for Institute of Management in Government, Govt of Kerala to provide various information about RTI, case studies and a facility for e-learning and on-line certification for any citizens of Kerala. The contents are available both in English and Malayalam. Twelve batches have been successfully conducted online, through which 989 have enrolled for the admission for online certification. 173 have taken the online certification. The Award has been received by - Dr. Elizabeth Sherly, former Director(i/c) from Shri. Chandarsekar, Secretary, Dept. of Telecommunications, Government of India on 15 June 2012 at eWorld2012 Forum Conference held at Le-Meridian, New Delhi along with Shri Rajeev R R, Sr. Computer Scientist of the Computational Linguistics project at IIITMK
